"When I was a little girl I loved to make 'cosmetics' from the flowers in our garden. It was my special gift to my grandmother. Of course as I grew older, I learned that essence of rose petal and hyacinth oil,however lovingly crafted,formed a most rudimentary skincare. I also discovered that not so many things are as pure as a rose,or a grandmothers affection!
Even so,I have never accepted that modern skincare should contain the petrochemicals,silicones,glycols,volatile alcohols,lauryl sulphates or artificial colours that so many brands do.
But nor am I content with skincare that is simply 'natural'.As a cosmetician,I have always wanted skincare that works. For a long while, my ideal has been anti-ageing skincare that is as natural as possible,but which is also highly functional-skincare that takes advantage of some of the wonderful scientific advances in skin nutrition,renewal and protection.
It seemed to me that the very best skincare would not compromise in using the finest anti-ageing bio actives available anywhere in the world. Nor would it compromise in including clinically-proven bio actives at the concentrations most likely to be beneficial. I discovered my ideal was in fact, extraordinary.
Even so, I believed that what I came to call 'authentic' skincare could surely be created. I also knew i needed very expert help.Fortunately, i found a remarkable man who shared my vision. Together with Dr Andy Lavrent and after many years,we created Snowberry."
